Do’s And Don’ts For Care After Hair Transplant

After surgical hair transplant procedure of re arrangement of hair follicles from the donor part to the bald part of scalp, care is as important as the procedure as the after care can add to the after surgery results.

Hence it is essential to discuss in detail about the aftercare with your surgeon before the surgery so that utmost satisfactory results can be attained after the surgery.  For the post-op care following do’s and don’ts must be taken care of so that only the safest and natural results can be attained.

Ask your doctor what you will receive after the surgery as each procedure has its own recovery time and result duration so it is good to discuss in detail with the surgeon  about what you will receive after surgery

Free yourself from the after surgery pain. Transplantation surgery is painless but after surgery few patients feel mild pain so it must be handled seriously by taking only prescribed painkillers

 Prop up your pillows after surgery. For initial few days you must sleep in the semi uplifted position with the elevated head on 2-3 soft pillows so that swelling of scalp can be prevented

Do not pull your transplanted hair. After surgery pamper your hair but not pull them as it can damage the hair roots and natural appearance of hair. 

Take shower with proper care. After surgery you must have hair wash but with proper care and as per the instructions of your surgeon.

Wait bit to color your hair as hair dye can damage your transplanted hair so for few days avoid coloring of your hair

 Take it easy on the exercise as excessive exercise can lead to sweating and swelling in the scalp and both are harmful for your hair

Shut up the sunlight for 10-15 days as excessive exposure to sun can damage your hair follicles.
